Beckham's F-word moment: Posh and Gordon Ramsay watch David lose his rag

David Beckham's frantic transatlantic dash appeared to have taken it's toll after he lost his temper during an LA Galaxy game.

He was on the pitch less than 30 hours after playing for England against Germany around 5,500 miles away at Wembley.

Beckham was involved in an angry clash with a rival player during a tense match. He was seen shouting at Jesse Marsch and waving his right arm before the referee tried to grab him and usher him away.

A shoving match ensued between the teams, which Beckham quickly backed out of and circled around.

The tussle happened in front of a capacity crowd of 27,000 which included wife Victoria and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay and his wife Tana.

David and Victoria have been good friends with Gordon and Tana for some time, and the Ramsays are thought to be staying with the Beckham's while Gordon films new series of Hells Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares in America.

The couple hired Ramsay to prepare the food at their £500,000 party at Beckingham Palace last summer and Victoria has often been seen on raucous nights out with the couple.

Beckham flew into Los Angeles on Thursday afternoon having played 90 minutes at Wembley in the friendly defeat to Germany and was in the starting line up for LA Galaxy's match against Chivas USA six hours later.

Galaxy general manager Alexei Lalas voiced some concerns about the toll Beckham's transatlantic travelling to play for England might take on his ability to play for his club side.

Lalas told BBC Sport: "We have a vested interest in this player and we have spent a tremendous amount of money to retain his services.

"We want to make sure we get our money's worth and that he is healthy and both physically and mentally ready to go when he plays for the Galaxy."

"I'm not going to deny there comes a point when your body can't do it anymore," said Galaxy boss Alexi Lalas.

"If at any point we felt it was detrimental to his health or ability to help our team we would take action."

During the next 12 weeks, Beckham faces more than 22 games as he travels more than 75,000 air miles across 128 time zones – which translates into nearly a solid week in the air.

For his part, Beckham dismissed jet-lag claims, he told the BBC: "So far it hasn't affected me. In the future, who knows?"
